  • Travel by RIB with fishermen to their king crab cages in the Barents Sea

  • Watch the experienced fisherman pull the crab cages from the water

  • See how the chef goes about skillfully preparing the catch of the day

  • Enjoy a sumptuous king crab buffet in a rustic fjord-side boathouse

Come and discover why Kirkenes is aptly nicknamed ‘King Crab City’ on this thrilling fishing tour. From Kirkenes, we’ll board a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) and cruise out to the Barents Sea with an experienced fisherman as our guide.

Red king crabs can weigh up to 10 kg and boast a leg span of almost 2 metres. Watch as the fisherman pulls up the king crab-laden cages from the depths. You might even be asked to lend a hand to haul them up if they prove to be too heavy for the fisherman alone.

Now it’s time to bring these giant crustaceans over to the traditional boathouse that sits by the beautiful fjord.

See a local chef prepare today’s catch, transforming them into a delicious meal. You’ll feast on as much king crab as you want, savouring the succulent white, flaky meat to your heart’s content. Be sure to bring your appetite.
